BIO:  Hi everyone, my name is Crystal!  I came from shelter in North Carolina where I was dropped off with 7 of my dachshund buddies. The folks in the shelter were kind to me, but knew they needed to get us all to a better place.  So AADR took me and my buddies in.  Wasn't long before my foster mom came and picked me up.  I was really shy the first couple of days with my foster family, but after that, I decided these are pretty nice people and I could start being more my true self.

I have had a few minor medical problems and I'm a little underweight,
 but with some treatment and good food, those issues are in the past.
I was dealing with some skin issues and loss of hair and yeast in my ears. While all my hair hasn't grown back in yet, I believe everything is under control after a course antibiotics and steriods.

I'm doing very well with my crate training and house training, and continues to love naps in the evenings in anyone's lap!

Being I'm in Dachshund and Chihuahua fashion, I like to bark!  (I probably wouldn't recommend myself for apartment living.)

I get along great with my big sister, Cassie, and my brother, Lincoln.  Foster mom says I need to learn what it's like to be a family member.  And I'm happy in my crate at night and when everyone has to leave the house.  I'm working really hard on becoming a 'house pup' and foster mom is really proud of me!

I'm still a work in progress, but I'm still on the look-out for my forever home.  Foster mom promises me that one day someone will see me and love me instantly and I will go to live with them for forever and ever!  She says I need a family that has a fenced yard so I can run around and a 4 legged buddy or two would be great!!! Will you be the one to love me for forever and ever?

=============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If you choose transporting by either volunteers through our organization or by paid transporter, there will be an additional $45 fee added for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI, NH, ME or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this, you need to take this up with your legislatures.

To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please review Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well.  For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
